Have a Good Morning

This is a sponsored post from BlogHer and Tropicana.

That I am not a morning person is one of the least interesting and unique things about me and yet also one of the most defining. Was it Patrick Henry or Rip Van Winkle who said "Give me sleep or give me death"? Or was that me last week when the cat woke us up with a wet barf on the duvet we'd just laundered the day before for the same reason?

Even on the best of days, waking up in the morning is not my favorite thing--although it's preferable to waking up in the middle of the night or not waking up at all--so I generally need a little help putting the "good" in "good morning." One way I do that is by eating breakfast as soon as humanly possible; the side effect of missing that window includes suffering from a serious case of the crankles. It helps that breakfast is by far my favorite meal, whether I'm having it at 8 a.m. or noon or nine or midnight, and that breakfast food is my all-day go-to not only because it's yummy but also because it's filling, comforting, and nutritious. And let us not forget it's also cheap and easy, which are two words that definitely describe me. Wait, that's not what I meant.

What I mean is: What would you rather do first thing in the morning: steam some fresh-picked organic spinach to fold into your slow-cooked free-range egg-white omelet or pour a bowl of whole grain cereal and get on with your life? Would you rather peel two oranges (bitter pith nails!) and a banana and then swallow a handful of chalky vitamins or have a glass of Tropicana Pure Premium orange juice?

tropicana-pure-premium-orange-juice.jpg

Each 59 oz. container of Tropicana Pure Premium contains the juice of sixteen oranges, and each 8 oz. glass provides two servings of fruit for only about 50 cents a pop. That single glass will give you a full day's supply of vitamin C plus potassium, folate, and thiamin, which together promote a healthy immune system, heart, and building blocks for makin' babies. And with no added sugars or artificial sweeteners, I don't have to limit my intake of Tropicana the way I do with my beloved two-lump cups of tea or, say, doughnuts with sprinkles. I like it when "good" doubles as "good for me."

The "good" in my morning comes from early morning snuggles with my dog and then coffee!

The good in a good morning comes from a nice selection of fruit for breakfast.

The good in my morning comes from seeing my son's face as he drinks his oj, with pulp. It's priceless.

We eat a breakfast that includes protein! Thanks for a chance to win!

I really try to have a positive attitude. Living with teenagers who stay up too late and then have to rush in the mornings can set you up for a chaotic fuss!
If I'm wiggin out....the whole morning is a bust!

Love Tropicana!

The good in my morning is a glass of OJ and a granola bar.

The 'good' in my morning comes from a cup of espresso with an OJ chaser!

the best kind of morning is hugs from the kidds...cold glass of oj, egg white omelet and more hugs

I kiss my kids good morning and usually get breakfast ready for them.

I make sure to eat a healthy breakfast every day.

I start my day off with some type of protein like cottage cheese, eggs or greek yogurt.

I get good with a bowl of oatmeal and diet pepsi :)

hi

COFFEE!!

If I don't have my coffee first thing, there will be nothing good about the day.

Several cups of coffee!!

Eating fresh fruits puts the good in our morning

The "good" does not happen if I don't eat breakfast. I'm pregnant so I can't skip breakfast, even if I wanted to. I usually have oatmeal and/or fruit. Sometimes it's a bagel or eggs...depends on what I'm feeling like. OJ is almost always in our house, but the kids go through it quickly.

I put the good into my mornings by having a glass of tropicana oj with a bagel with cream cheese.

kport207 at gmail dot com

I try to get enough sleep the night before and try to eat a healthy breakfast in order to put the "good" in good morning.

I make sure the whole family gets a good start with a high fiber cereal, skim milk, and a glass of 100% juice.

kdkdcats at yahoo dot com

The GOOD part of a good morning for me is a good workout! It gives me energy for my whole day. :)

I'm not a morning person either so my way of putting the "good" in "good morning" is to try to always give myself extra time before I have to actually get up and get moving.

good would be sleeping in. most mornings are hectic around here but a nice glass of cold water always is refreshing

I usually put the good in my morning by having a yogurt, whole grain toast and a glass of OJ

coffee and Tropicana Pure Premium definetly help my mornings and get me off to a good start that with some oatmeal gives me the energy to keep up my morning routine and throughout the day.

I put the good in my mornings by eating a light, but nourishing breakfast consisting of juice, fresh fruit, whole grain cereal or bread, then I go out for a walk or work in the garden.

My good mornings start by sleeping in.

I have oatmeal and juice with my two little grandsons. It's always a good morning seeing their sweet little face.
Thanks for the giveaway!

It takes coffee to get my brain going.

I have a hot shower

I get a good start to the day with coffee, oatmeal, and OJ.

I put the good in good morning with a nice hot shower with a pretty smelling soap.

itsjustme62613 at gmail.com

I always start out with a good breakfast of oatmeal, juice and coffee.

I usually make some eggs with english muffins. A cup of O.J. is good too.

As much as I'd rather wait, I find that having a healthy, well-rounded breakfast helps me jump start my day. The bigger the breakfast, the better the day.

I ensure to put "good" in the morning by having a balanced breakfast. That includes fruit (or juice), some protein and healthy carbs. :) I love breakfast.

I allow extra time for waking up and snuggling with my cat....i'll set my alarm extra early to be able to hit snooze at least once and allow ample kitten snuggling time before i start the day :)

Every morning I have coffee and a piece or two of dark chocolate.

It's all about PMA- positive mental attitude! I'm one of those annoying people who roll out of bed smiling & singing! It doesn't hurt to add some coffee in the morning either!

While I don't mind fixing a good breakfast for others I count myself having done well to get down a glass of orange juice along with my many cups of coffee.
spiersrp at gmail dot com

i try to buy cereals with whole grain for the boys

Some mornings I just like to roll over and keep sleeping

#1 thing I do when I get to work is make myself a cup of hot cocoa. Sometimes it's the first thing I think about when I get up (other than, "Crap! I'm late!").

Oatmeal. So boring and yet such a wonderful thing to put waaay too much sugar on. Cavities don't scare me. Ok, maybe a little.

My good mornings start with my boyfriend making me coffee to take to work with me. I have a long commute, and that little nice act just makes it so much easier, somehow. :-)

I love snuggling with my two girls. And when we have time, chocolate chip pancakes.

The good in my morning is being my boyfriend's alarm clock. I get up and shower/dry hair/lady maintenance, then I crawl onto bed next to my sleepy love and kiss him awake. It is my favorite part of the day.

A nice stretch, a steaming cup of coffee and a new album to groove to!

I am also one of those "breakfast as soon as humanely possible" people--the only way to be!

My two little kids come in to wake me up every day, and their grinning faces always get my morning started well!

I take a nice long walk before work and it always puts me in a good mood.

I get the good in by waking up early, giving thanks for the day, and doing a bit with my jumprope before I start breakfast :D

To start with a good morning I need a strong cup of coffee and on my drive to work I appreciate the little things--the beauty of the sky, whether it is sunrise or overcast storm clouds, or the way the fog is rolling across the river, or the tiny ice crystals that build on my windshield. I save my Tropicana OJ until after work, for a great beverage mixer. : )

Well, my first answer is "wake up after noon & avoid this 'morning' thing altogether!" But having a Boost or Ensure waiting for me in the fridge helps get me moving.

I put the good in my morning by a wake up kiss to my husband, a hug to my dog and a cup of coffee!

I put the good in my morning with a doggie snuggle. I need to wake up on my own terms. Lots of mornings my husband will make me breakfast (I know!) and bring me a glass of juice. Those mornings rock! Of course, I make the awesome breakfasts, too. Migas, waffles, pancakes - those are my strengths.

We don't have to be morning people, orange juice tastes just as good at night!

I get my good in the morning with a bowl of cereal and a glass of OJ

I put the “good” in my morning by thanking God for another day our family is safe and healthy.
