The Boys of Summer
A huge thanks and 50 gold stars to Kevin for giving us free tickets to the A’s game last Saturday.
And 50 gold stars each to Teddy and Ethan for always being game for my games. Thank you for the nighttime ice cream runs, for not throwing me out of the car for performing an emotional rendering of Anne Sexton’s “In Celebration of My Uterus,” and for making me believe–if only for a minute–that we really could just up and drive to LA at 10 p.m., you know, just for kicks.

Sweet mother of God, do you know what it’s like to spend an entire day at work with no Internet access? No email, no blogs, no blogging, no Amazon, no IMDB, no Library of Congress, no Google, no Quizilla, no Urban Dictionary, no limecat!! It was almost as bad as being sans tv for an evening. Am I being punished for doing something horrible in a past life, cuz if so, I’d really like a chance to apologize for that.
