Mommy’s Little Helper

Hey! I have a code for $20 worth of MommyJuice Wine! Come win it!

So, a while back, MommyJuice Wines sent me a sample of their white and red wines, and last week they sent me a bottle with their special holiday label and a code for one of you to win $20 worth of credit for MommyJuice. That’s enough for a bottle, shipping, and maybe two new wine glasses. (And they sell really cute wine glasses.) Nice! Here’s what I can give you by way of review:

Christmas is for children, blah blah blah, but you, YES, YOU, deserve a little something to enjoy while addressing holiday cards or wrapping presents or watching Rudolph for the eightieth time. I know that sounds like advertising copy, but it’s straight from me and IT’S TRUE. Get you some wine, girl.

Now, I’m not a huge drinker, and most wine pretty much tastes like slightly different shades of fermented grape juice to me (still yum), so instead of offering up any specific tasting notes based on the experience of my not-at-all-refined palate, here are the tasting notes from MommyJuice itself:

Red Wine (39% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc 3% Grenache, 2% Syrah, 2% Zinfandel, 1% Carignan, 0.5% Cinsaut, 0.5% Malbec): Aromas of bright berry fruits. Plums, tobacco and a subtle floral note. Full and rich flavors of blueberries, blackberries and dried cherries. Dried plums and a little anise spice round off the wonderfully smooth finish. Moderate tannins make this a wonderful wine to drink while the kids are sleeping.

White Wine (100% Monterey County Chardonnay): Aromas of tropical fruit salad—pineapples, guava and bananas. Hints of lemon grass and citrus rind as well. Kiwi, lime and a hit of grassiness round out this very fruit forward Chardonnay. Drop the kids at a sitter and drink on a picnic with your significant other or at GNO. (I will say this definitely tasted on the fruity rather than buttery side of Chardonnay, which was a lovely surprise, as I’m not a big Chard fan in most cases.)

MommyJuice Wines was founded by and is owned by a mom (love that), and I enjoyed a glass of MommyJuice with my own mommy as we crafted at my kitchen table late into the night.

As as you can see, MommyJuice is also Daddy approved:

(Even by Daddys who don’t drink white wine and sometimes dress like lumberjacks.)

Check out the MommyJuice website (and especially the gift packs if you’re still looking for holiday presents), and keep this in mind for future baby showers too. (Call me selfish, but some of the best gifts I got at the shower before Wombat was born were gifts for MEEEEEEE.)

Okay, who wants to win the code for $20 off MommyJuice Wines? Leave a comment below and I’ll let Random.org do the choosing on Wednesday, December 18 at midnight Pacific. Good luck!
