I haven’t been able to respond to your (awesome, awesome) comments on the last post because I’ve been busy sewing costumes.

We bought Fox a store-bought monkey costume and were going to put a little plastic fez on top and make him the monkey to Simon’s organ grinder, but after the colorful history of Wombat’s homemade costumes, I wanted to buck the neglected-second-child theory and so was glad when Simon came up with the idea to make our sweet little innocent but also bald and neckless and pointy-of-eyebrow infant into a supervillain. Conveniently, Wombat’s babydoll Norm Smitwitz is the perfect Mini-Me.
“We can’t not do it,” I said. “And he won’t be bald and neckless next year,” I said. “I guess I’ll spend the next few nights hunkered over the sewing machine crafting a costume for A DOLL,” I said.
Still, it’s a million-dollar idea. A one-meeeeellion-dollar idea.
