Fox News
Fox turned three months old this week. I don’t even know.
Three months from now he’ll probably be crawling, and three months after that he might be cruising, and three months after that he could be walking. Walking! My brand-new newborn new baby who is new! Three months is nothing and everything. It’s a blink and a lifetime.
At three months, Fox:
- clasps his hands sweetly together like he’s about to recite a poem
- shrieks like a parrot on uppers
- was 14 lbs. 3 oz. (78%) and 24 inches (52%) at his two-month appointment (when he was 12 weeks old)
- flails his limbs in a herky-jerky animatronic style that is probably the most adorable thing in the whole world and I’m not just saying that because he does it when he thinks he’s going to be picked up
- has sparkling blue eyes and, according to friends, relations, and strangers, looks remarkably like mama
- knows when the song cycle is about to end on his musical star thing and starts to preemptively complain
- has been to Chipotle probably two dozen times
- loves t.v. (shut up)
- is constantly assessed as a calm baby, a happy baby, a chill baby, an easy baby (and they’re right, KNOCK ON WOOD)
- is strong as an ox, if oxes were known for holding their heads up indefinitely during tummy time
- sticks just the tiniest triangle tip of his tongue out to taste the air
- shows great patience in the face of an overly enthusiastic big brother
- prefers to stand, thanks
- looks at himself in the mirror, lunges with joy, and then turns away coyly, burying his face in my shoulder
- barfs a lot
- wakes up twice a night not because he’s upset or hungry but just because he can, because he knows he has me wrapped around his fat little pink little finger
- has the softest, snuzzliest scalp
- is growing up way too fast

OMG! He is so squishable and adorable. I want to pinch those cheeks.
I have a son just a couple weeks younger than Fox, and he’s also my second baby, so it’s fun to see what’s coming. Fox is precious!! Three months (2.5 in my case) really do fly by!!
So gorgeous! But three months? How? Where? Not.
