Wednesday’s Child

First there was Tuesdays with Morrie. Now I bring you Wednesdays with Wombat. Or, rather, Wednesday with Wombat, as I have exactly zero plans to make this a regular feature, so catch it while you can, folks (or, uh, bookmark this post and revisit it every Wednesday in perpetuity).

Following is Wombat showcasing his storytelling skills and flair for the dramatic, a.k.a. proving Simon’s paternity (and we didn’t even have to spend a Tuesday with Maury, GET IT?).

Please note that I think this is pretty much the best thing ever, so if you have any “meh”s, they’re not welcome here. What is welcome are leads on how I can get this turned into a quirky little custom cartoon without having to pay one meeeeellion dollars or take three years off to study computer animation via one of those non-accredited “universities” that advertise during my daytime teevee progrums.

The story is, as far as I know, wholly original, and it’s SO GOOD, YOU GUYS. (I may be biased.) The end is the best part, and I’m not just saying that to make you watch the whole thing–fast-forward if you will–but also be aware that if you’ve ever been curious about Simon’s real first name (or mine, for that matter, although it’s the world’s worst-kept secret), today is your lucky day. Or you could’ve just asked me, although this method is way more fun.

  • OH MY JESUS HE IS A PRECIOUS ANGEL SENT FROM HEAVEN ABOVE.

  • Hee! Adorable. I think my favorite part is the very scary tummy.

  • Love the story. The clean house bit was a nice touch as was the lurking tummy deep in the dark forest. Spooky.

  • OH THIS IS TOO GOOD. I want a clean house for my happy ending!

  • Love it! Especially the sharp witch teeth. His accent sounds a little bit English at times to my (English) ear- eg ‘got lost’. Or is that just me?!

  • I love the way he says “swwwwooooorrrrrdddd.” Twice. ADORABLE!

  • With havin so much content and articles do you ever run
into any issues of plagorism or copyright violation?
My site has a lot of unique content I’ve either created myself or outsourced but it seems a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my agreement. Do you know any solutions to help stop content from being stolen? I’d certainly appreciate it.

  • I cannot get over how adorable he is! A clean house is my idea of a happy ending, too.

  • This is my new favorite thing ever and I can’t wait till it’s a bestseller.

    THE BUSHES!

Better not go in those bushes. Right, Mom?

  • It wasn’t enough to slay me regularly on Instagram with adrobable photos of Fox, huh? You just had to throw this out there, too.

OK FINE. I can TOTALLY HANDLE ALL THE CUTENESS.

  • “A witch!”
His adamant proclamation of this is particularly endearing.
    I am such a fan.

  • (Ok, am dumb, and originally posted my comment on the wrong post, so here it is again!) Oh. OH! Utterly captivating. I LOVED IT. He has such a flair for the dramatic pause and some dramatic voice changes. Thanks for sharing this! Also, I don’t care what your real names are. You’ll always be Leah and Simon to me.

  • Oh my goodness, the ending. Hilarious. I love little boys and their expressions. They tell such great stories! (I’m sure girls do to, but Elise can’t talk yet…)

  • Loved this! Some of his inflections and expressions are so much like my son’s (he’s just turned 3) but his vocabulary and imagination are amazing. Such a great preview of things to come.

He really does keep up the storyline the whole way through. I love that “his mom and dad and sister and brother” are always a unit. But I think my favorite part was the red, angry EYEBROWS.

P.S. Ohhhhh, I get it. *Simon*.

  • Oh, man. That is *wonderful*. I, too, loved the terrifying tummy (and the poke that drove it back into the bushes) and the joyous family reunion, complete with t-shirts. Heck, I even enjoyed the subplot about the grapes. Thanks for sharing this!

  • Oh man, you were not wrong – it was the best thing ever. Geez, could he be any more awesome? I too loved the witch teeth and the drawn-out pronunciation of swoooooooooord (which kind of should be said just like that if you think about it). Good job, you guys.

  • That story was precious! I’d love for him to tell us a story each week! Bet he wouldn’t mind! Watching him rub your leg/play with your foot brought back precious memories of my son at that age. (He’s 22 now!) Thanks for this post!

Have at it!
