Cats!

Overheard at daycare:

"I have Hello Kitty shirt."

"I have Hello Kitty dress."

"I have Hello Kitty jacket."

"I have Hello Kitty purse."

"I have Hello Kitty socks."

"I have Hello Kitty shoes."

I feel like I need to go find Wombat a Hello Kitty motorcycle jacket. You know, something manly.

I can't believe Hello Kitty is still so popular! I had a Hello Kitty school set (pencils, mini stapler, mini scotch tape, etc... come to think of it, it was a very odd set) in Kindergarten. And I got some girl in trouble for stealing it. This is... just shy of 30 years ago. Hello Kitty - she's nothing if not timeless.

H&M Kids carries them. Olivia had a black vest with Hello Kitty on the back from there. Totally a boy could wear it.

My mom lived in Japan for awhile and sent my daughter tons of Hello Kitty stuff. I could send along a purse, or a backpack, or maybe a figurine on a necklace... except maybe not so manly. :)

There is a store in a neighbourhood called Gastown here in Vancouver and it is full of Hello Kitty stuff. I can't believe it sells so well still.

My daughter wears Hello Kitty undies. She is three years old. We walked by a card/gift shop on a busy commercial street, and she walked right up to the window, where, unbeknownst to me there was a Hello Kitty something-or-other on display. Facing the display, she dropped her trousers in order that Hello Kitty would see and appreciate her undies.

Simon has been looking for an excuse to get a Hello Kitty guitar for YEARS. This might be his chance!

My daughter has a Hello Kitty SIGG water bottle that my youngest is always trying to steal for himself.
