Ladies and Gentlemen of the Jury
Simon, light of my life, fire of my loins. My sin, my soul. My Simon. (Wait...isn't that a game?)
He is Simon, plain Simon, in the morning, standing six foot even in his birthday suit, even when it's not his birthday (although today it is). He is Simon here, for you, and on Flickr and Twitter, and also, inexplicably, on the Wii. He is Joaquin on stage. He is something else entirely on the dotted line. But in my arms he was always, is always, will be, always, my honeybabysugarmuffin. How's that for poetry?
We realized late last night--late enough that he was already "It'smybirthday!It'smybirthday!"ing in my ear--that I have known him since he was twenty-six years old. Today he turns thirty-five. It must mean something that he still feels like the new guy to me.

Yay, Simon! Bummed I'm going to miss the festivities, but our lives are currently consumed with relocating our belongings in the next two weeks. Bah.
