*sob*
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH.
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
I'm doing the ugly cry over here because I just found out that BlogHer '09 has sold out! As in NO MORE TICKETS! As in I've been waiting YEARS for this and now I've screwed it all up because there are some days when I don't have a chance to check my email and I therefore miss important announcements like "BlogHer is selling out so you'd better get your tickets right now lest you ruin everything for your entire family and die of despair."
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
I seriously can't remember the last time I felt so awful (which is a good thing, I guess, but still: WAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!).
If anyone has any leads on a ticket, please please please let me know. We're still considering going to Chicago anyway and hanging out in the Sheraton lobby all pathetic-like, but the part of my brain that is rational says that might be a little too crazy even for someone who was emailing the BlogHerAds support team while nine and a half centimeters dilated on the delivery table.
In other news, see my Work It, Mom blog for a post on what it's like to work from home with a baby on the premises. It has its challenges, to be sure, but it also has its benefits. Today, for instance, I'm glad I'm working from home instead of in the office because it makes all the crying much less awkward. *sob*

Nah you're cool. They'll come up with some magical tickets for you somehow. I however, being fairly new to this whole thing am pretty sure I will not come up with tickets. Booooo hoo. That's what I get for being super busy and having no brain whatsoever after that baby was born. Oh well. At least said baby is cute. A weekend with her will be just fine.
WHAT????
THIS CANNOT BE TRUE!!!!
You guys are my "go-to" people. BlogHer has a wait list and there is a forum to match up people who have tickets and can't come with people who want to be there.
Regardless, COME TO CHICAGO. Whoorl is coming with her dudes and only attanding the cocktail parties.
You have to come regardless. Please?
*Bats baby blues at you*
Ang--I'm on the waitlist and on the forum and entered into all the contests to win tickets (even though I will totally pay for one), but at this point I think all I can do is cross my fingers and cry. If I can get enough people to promise to come see us in the lobby for a second (or maybe go out for dinner after the cocktail parties (because we can't even get tickets to those!)) then there's a good chance we'll make the trip anyhow. This just sucks so bad I can't stand it.
I might go and just hang out/attend the cocktail party. We can hang out during the sessions together...at a nearby bar ;-)
But that's what Craigslist is for, right?? I bet someone will need to sell their ticket!
I bet if anyone had known tickets would go so fast, there would be a bunch of scalpers out there with dozens of extra tickets selling for twice the going rate. With a plan like that, you could MAKE money going to BlogHer.
I'm in the same state, Ms. Leah.
We're just planning to get cocktail party tickets.
Want to do a family trip? I'll watch your baby if you watch mine.
If you don't get a ticket (which would be an absolute violation of ALL KNOWN KARMA in the universe, seriously), then I would totally go out to Chicago to hang out in the lobby with you!
And by "you," I really mean "can I see the Wombat?"
:-)
Family trip with the Hearnseses! It will be known as the trip on which Miss Nora Lea and Wombat first fell in love. (Either that or they'll pull each other's hair and bite.)
(The Powers that Be tell me there are no tickets left for the cocktail party either. So...party in the lobby and everyone's invited! Whee!)
I went without tickets last year, and it was still super fun. Go, relax, have fun! :)
That's how I felt when I found out I'd be so pregnant - as in DUE THE WEEKEND OF THE CONFERENCE - there was no way I could go to BlogHer. BOO!!! Lol. I hope you manage to score some tickets through a contest or giveaway or whatever else there is!
I will hang out with you every spare moment that I can. And Simon, too. I like that dude. And I will sneak Wombat into the conference with me so that I can get some snuggle time ;)
COME!
Your Wombat is an adorable little baby :) He is very lucky to have such awesome parents
You and HJ better come lest you want me to drag my ass out there again.
Come and hang out in the lobby. It will be fun! Because ain't no party like a sitting in the lobby party. Or something like that.
You have to make the trip anyway as this is the only BlogHer I'm able to go to as it's in my backyard. You'll have fun even if you can't go to the seminars! COME ANYWAY! I'll show you a good time *wags eyebrows*
:-)
