i have a couple of friends who, when they first had their youngling, didn't remember any kiddie songs so they'd sing tv theme songs instead. . . at the age of three the kid could sing the gilligan's island theme song. . . i never did find out if they taught her the "the professor and mary ann" ending or the "and the rest" one tho'. . .
My daughter is 10 months old and I swear to you I can't remember rock-a-bye baby to save a life but I sing that song "Nine to Five" you know: My baby takes the morning train, she works from 9 to 5 and then she takes another home again...blah blah blah. I'm not old enough for that song but my parents always listened to oldies when I was a kid and it works! I'm really good with toddler/pre-school music I have no understanding of nursery rhymes!

da DA da da da daaaa...
I wonder if this is how I came by my superpower (the uncanny ability to remember TV jingles and theme songs from my childhood).
Hey, if it works, it works!
