First Night

Oh. Hello.

mon-key.jpg

I will name him George and love him and hug him and kiss him and squeeze him and OPEN MY FRONT DOOR WITH HIM OMG!

Long story short, we had a team of people beating down the door of the foot-draggers, and at 4:30 Simon and I got the call that we needed to pick up the key across town in half an hour during Friday rush-hour traffic or be SOL until Monday. Oh, so we're on your schedule now? Is that how it is? *cough*assholes*cough*

Not daring to be my normal stubborn self, I hauled butt to an office where the single key was delivered to me in an envelope by an uninvolved and unemotional secretary and with absolutely no fanfare or confetti or seventy-six-trombone marching band. I called Simon, who was five miles away, and said "woo hoo!" He said "woo hoo!" back. I'd made it with just eight minutes to spare. We met at the house twenty minutes later, where he insisted on carrying me across the threshold--although it was more of an assisted hop across the threshold--and then we took a quick turn about the empty house and pointed out all the things we hadn't noticed before, like the way the whole back half of the structure sags at a dramatic angle. Eek. We scrambled up to the treehouse (tight fit!), rode the zipline into a bush with a drastic trimming in its near future, and marvelled at how much the crookneck squash has grown in the last few weeks--just wait until you see it.

And then Simon went back to his reunion and it was my turn to perform great feats of strength with my puny little girly arms. I boxed like Muhammed Ali! I drove like Tiger! I twirled and sang on my own personal mountaintop like Fraulein Maria! But none of that is why I logged in. I logged in to show you this:

Is that your view from the new house? Love it :) My favourite time of night is dusk when all the houses in the distance are lighting up...but you can see way more houses than we can from our deck. Congrats guys...I can't wait to read all about the house now that you're in it :)

Wheeeeee!!!!!!!

I'm so happy for you two.

BTW you ALWAYS notice things after the orgasm of buying your house wears off. The inspectors would have noticed anything awful and you have a contract that hopefully laid out that the previous owners would be liable for something foundation wise right, if found within the first 120 days?

It's going to be all good.

Bee-yoo-ti-ful shot!!! Man I love SF...I totally messed up when I requested the L.A. rather than SF office.
