R&R

We've had some really early mornings and some really late nights this week, and even though I was a good girl and had a slice of pizza and a coke around 2 p.m. (it ain't healthy, but at least it's food), I'm feeling like right now even my desk, with its sundry workplace detritus, would make for a suitable pillow. These three-day work weeks are killer.

I'm supposed to attend another outing with my photography group tomorrow, but because it involves waking up at 7 a.m. and driving for forty minutes into an unfamiliar area and paying a fee and packing a lunch and hiking around in the cold and the fog and the sea mist all day, you might say I'm a few degrees below lukewarm on the concept. My reluctance might be something a good night's sleep will cure (to bed by 8?!), but it might also be that I'm a little burnt out, deflated by the gloomy weather, desirous of naught but a cat, a cup of tea, and a dozen kisses, to the exclusion even of California coast views and redwoods and lime green moss and ladyfriends.

I feel bad, though, because two other people have pooped out of the outing already, and I don't want to not go simply because I'm finding it inconvenient and uncomfortable in theory. I'm finding it difficult to discern the line between saying no because I need a break and saying no because I'm whiny and lazy, all of which makes me even more whiny and lazy and in need of a break. Bleh. Perhaps I shall say yes instead?

For now, I leave you with some special agirlandaboy™ brand eye candy and best wishes for a happy weekend; one in the lot of us should get out and do something fun--why not you?

Rowr!

Wish me luck as I embark on yet another dress shopping experience (with Dan's mom), then have to brave a crowd of people in a bathing suit at a friend's birthday party tomorrow afternoon. Social and fun, yes. Beneficial to my body image? with the guests that I know will be there? No way, man.

And you, you get some rest this weekend, young lady.

Just READING about your feelings about not wanting to go makes me feel that way, because that's how I nearly always feel when I'm supposed to go somewhere. When we have no plans, I'm dyyyyyyying to get out somewhere, go somewhere new, do something, anything, out of our boring little house. But when I'm supposed to go somewhere, even to do something I know I'll probably enjoy, I'm Miss Draggy-feet. Why is that?

And, good looking boy you've got there!

Can't wait to see the photography club pictures. I've been trying to organize one where I live without much luck.

It appears I'm not the first one to say RAUR.

Your photography skills kick ass but that subject is delicious. ;-)

Great picture. What kind of camera do you have? And, stupid question, what program do you use to add the borders?

7 am is early for just about everything except mimosas. But if you did go, I hope you enjoyed.

I'm pretty loathe to give up my Saturday mornings. They belong to my family. I don't get to sleep in, but we usually don't go anywhere for hours. Unless I'm doing a charity bike ride (next one is a 75-miler, eek).

You already take some excellent photos, so other than the fellowship with other shutterbugs, what's the point?

Fantastic portrait. Now, rest!

Jennie--Here's a link that will cover all of my photography equipment: http://www.agirlandaboy.com/journal/archives/001390.html

I made the borders in Photoshop Elements, just layering rectangles on each other and cropping.
