Behold
The Hat Trick of Modern Chivalry:
1. Clean the (completely disgusting) bathroom unprompted
2. Get out of bed to make me toast with butter and honey because I seem to have grown hungry at 2 a.m.
3. Trap and dispose of a meaty spider mere moments before it swandives from the ceiling and into my O-shaped mouth.
Such gallantry almost makes up for the fact that he shaved off his puffy koala hair while I was at work yesterday, thereby denying me the side part that I so dearly love.
(For the record, while he was out in the evening, I did the dishes and cleaned up the kitchen and media room, so it's not like I'm a spoiled layabout or something.)
Happy Easter, everyone. We will be doing taxes while eating sushi and hiding from the rain (boo!) under kilograms of afghans.

Picture taken outside the shoe store on Haight while JenB was shopping.
When I see a spider or (more likely) a cockroach, I scream "There's a man job in the living room!" The word "meaty," by the way, is far too descriptive. ughhh.
Posted by: Janssen at April 6, 2007 02:28 PMIsn't "man job" in the trifecta of Modern Female Generosity (or whatever the girly counterpart to chivalry might be called)?

Posted by: no name slob at April 6, 2007 06:09 PMThe only thing I call in the Boy for is roaches, and I found one, once. It was titll alive, and I didn't want to kill it (I don't kill any bugs except for fleas and ticks, pretty much. If you read back on my blog you will see the tale of the crickets that lived in my bathtub...) so I'm used to scooping up insects with my bare hands and carrying them outside. I just needed his help in trapping the sucker.
And, just...waitaminute. Did I read that correctly? Boys *clean*? Like, stuff inside the house?
Posted by: the slackmistress at April 6, 2007 07:23 PMLOVE the peep pic. And we, too, will be doing taxes and doing some sun-dance. Happy Easter!
Posted by: Mrs. Flinger at April 6, 2007 08:43 PMMine doesn't clean or kill any bugs. I did have a hearty laugh though when he had to clean up some dog poop last night, as I'd already gone to bed...granted his shrieks woke me up. Eek.
