Stu-Stu-Studio

I've been holding onto pictures from Simon's recording session for over a week now, waiting for the right words to accompany them. I don't really have anything insightful to say, though, aside from maybe telling about my short moment of reflection on what it must be like to have Britney Spears and her attitude behind the microphone and whether they'd let her bring a Diet Coke into the studio if she asked.

So, I'm sorry to say I don't really have anything to say. The kids at the controls were competent and nice and complimentary (they were bobbing their indie hair and tapping their Converse toes in time with the twang), and it was a fun and unique way to spend eight hours (even though we missed the Pride Parade--sad). Aside from the Yoko jokes, I quite enjoy being a band-aid, and I definitely appreciate the perks that come with sleeping with the bassist.

The only thing I would have done different: taken a tip from the band in the studio down the hall and made Simon play with his shirt off, like a real rock-and-roller.

Here are some shots from behind the sound-proof doors.

I spent a day in the studio once with a good friend of mine - VERY cool to see how it all works.

So when is the CD for sale?

Having worked in some very nice studios, I can say with authority that this was a VERY VERY nice studio you were in, what with the Neve console and all!!!!
