Fluckr

Sorry, guys. I've got another hectic week at work that will keep me from writing anything of substance or answering any of your emails (Feisty, Frank, Bloopy, et. al.) for another few days. I didn't even wish Old Man Will a Happy Birthday on Sunday, that's how bad it is.

The goods news is it's time for another round of audience participation.

1. Should I go to BlogHer? Some of the cool kids are going, but I'm still not sure if I should. I'm pretty dull in person, and what if they don't let me sit at their table? I also hate wearing a nametag, hate conferences in hotels, and am utterly crawl-out-of-my-skin uncomfortable around women. But JenB promised me a hug, and that's where I have a hard time saying no. Are any of you going? Will any of you give me a hug?

2. I have Flickred, but decided that although it will be more burdensome in the short run, it will be more beneficial to my peace of mind in the long run if I only allow "Friends" to view my photos. This means if you want access to my images, you'll have to send me an email letting me know you want in. I won't be turning anyone down; this is just my way of avoiding having all my photos available to the creepy public at large. Those of you on Flickr already, be sure to send me an email from the address associated with your Flickr account, or just send me an invitation to be your Flickr Friend, since that's much less ridiculous than sending me an email so I can send you an email right back, duh. If you don't have a Flickr account, it's free, you don't have to use your real name, and you never have to upload any pictures, either for the creepy public at large or for your creepy friends and family. Being a member will simply let you view my photos and make comments and stuff. I don't know if this will do away with the semiregular slideshows I post here because I can pretty much do the same thing in Flickr without busting my bandwidth or having to spend time sizing and optimizing the files that end up small and grainy. Flickr is the wave of the future (future, future, future...). Flickr is the new plastic. Sign up here.

I think you should go to BlogHer! You ARE one of the cool kids, so you'll actually be deciding who you want at YOUR table. :)

My friend Monkey is probably going to BlogHer, and you should too. And you don't even have to pay for a hotel room.

I agree with Amanda that you ARE one of the cool kids.

I heart Flickr, although I don't use it as often as I could. Just contact-requested you...

I'll come to BlogHer with you. Like I'd pass up a wekend in a dress? come on

Posted by: will at June 21, 2006 09:19 AM

Why would you NOT go?

:)

Since I'm so new to Flickr, I added you as a contact...is that the way we become Flickr "friends" ?

:)
