Spring Cleaning

Today because

1. I didn't want to do my freelance work in the office when I can get paid twice as much to do it at home, and
2. I wasn't swamped with work I'm actually required to do while on the clock, and
3. I hadn't taken out my trash for months and yesterday I saw a little green thing with many legs run away from the garbage can in terror,

I cleaned my office.

I recycled a stack of papers that reached my butt, and if in the last six months you were in your own office wondering where all the extra large binder clips went, they were here, with me. I had to put them in a large plastic bag for transport from my desk to the supply room.

By the numbers, things removed from my desk today include:

Diet Coke cans: 11
Diet Coke bottles: 2
Diet 7UP cans: 1
Juice Squeeze bottles: 4
Empty containers of chai mix: 2
Utensils and lunch plates that belong to the office: 7
Three-week-old apple cores: 1
CDs of questionable content: 1
Little green things with many legs: 2

now that you're done with your office, wanna come and spring clean mine?

Awww, how cute. There was a little-green-thing-with-legs couple. You KNOW it must be love to stare at that every day.

I'm disappointed there's only one CD of questionable content. Really, you need to boost your collection.

Number of Diet Coke bottles filled with pee pee...
Oh, wait.

Excuse #1 - Your desk is too big.

Excuse #2 - You are working WAY too hard if that much stuff has accumulated.

Excuse #3 - You CLEARLY need an assistant.

Excuse #4 - You need a bigger budget to include a mini-fridge and a desk-side trash compactor. Talk to your boss.

Excuse #5 - Someone is deliberately trying to derail your work effort by putting trash on your desk.

Whatever works for you.

Throwing away crap is so satisfying.

I feel a little better. Your office is worse than my office...but not quite as bad as my car.

tammy, can you find that many excuses for me? can i email you when i need to come up with reasons?

Sure, jeorg! Happy to help!

Honestly, I would have done more, but I had to log off of my computer.

It's not really an "excuse", it's just another way at looking at a situation.
