March Monday Music Madness, Part the Second
It's that time again! Here I go exploiting the one I love, all in the name of symmetry and alliteration.
Ladies and gents, I present to you Simon on the concertina I bought him for Christmas (00:40). This video was taken on the day after I gave him the instrument, so don't get all down on his skillz and technique because this is really just him fooling around with a new toy, fresh out of the box, no prior experience under his belt. I think his performance is darling--and certainly not bad at all for a novice improvising an original composition that he never expected to be put up on the internet. (I should post a video of me trying to play the thing so you can be assured that it doesn't just play itself.) All we need now is a dancing monkey or some mimes.
In other news: Chile. Gaaaaah.

And that painting on the wall? He totally didn't do that. (Note to honey: I'M SORRY!) (Note to Internets: I KNOW!)
Why do you do that? It's as if you're sabotaging Music Mondays on purpose.
Simon, not to make you feel any less macho, but that was so adorable I think my heart actually split into 2 pieces.
The concentration on your face gets me, but that final nod of approval makes me fall in love with you all over again.
heh. Nice work Leah. You make Mondays sooooo much better.
The painting is even uglier than the sweater. I'm so glad I don't like it.
Simon, thanks. :)
Wasn't that song the theme to some short Pixar animated film about a Parisian monkey who had no friends? If not, it should be!
There is a definite Amelie theme running through that piece..
Amelie! That's exactly what I was thinking!!
Dammit, your boyfriend is uber-cool, even if he does have an ugly sweater.
Hello?? Chile. Want to know more. Now.
It's just too much! If you don't marry him and bear his children soon, I am going to explode.
You and me both, Amanda. :)
Heh. His concertina face is even more priceless/precious than his blues guitar face! What a talented man... you lucky lucky girl.
