Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow*

I don't know how to explain my online silence this week other than to say that an asshat I'm dealing with for work has been rendering me utterly exhausted and demoralized every day by at least noon, and I've found it impossible to mentally get out from under the pile of shite that is his dumb book that no one will ever read because it sucks so hard.

Other exciting events this week include six hours spent defrosting my freezer, two episodes of The Bachelor (hence the previous post), smuggling tacos into Harry Potter 4, and pilating during Sex and the City. Not really the most eventful few days; not really much to say even if they were.

So...yeah...

Simon brought up moving to Chile again last night, yikes, and we have in the works two trips to the OC (in April and May) and one to England (August), and SAJ and one of my coworkers just had babies, and Simon let slip the H word, which means I now need to find two hats--one to wear to a British wedding and one from which to pull out half a million dollars because real estate here is insane, and oh, I also need a new car and last I heard they weren't giving them out for free. Except for Oprah, I guess. So I suppose there's a little bit of future-obsessed paralysis going on here as well. Meh. It'll pass.

I'm looking forward to the weekend. We're going to our second roller derby bout and we're watching Titus (which I love because I used it in my senior thesis on Shakespeare and Ovid and bodily dismemberment), and we'll probably either go biking or blading or something physical because even though it rained here last night, the air is getting a little warmer and the days are getting a little longer and the pink blossoms just burst out on the plum trees two days ago, and that means it is now officially my favorite two weeks of the entire year and it must be enjoyed to the fullest.

So that's how things are right now--on the cusp of everything at once.

*Ten gold stars for whoever knows this reference.

OK. Girls wonder why guys are so closed off and hesitant to talk about the future, and blah blah blah. This entry is a great example of why this is. You say the word House, and suddenly the nest-building instinct kicks in, and the future turns into this great skein of the unknown, and girls start freaking out. So that is why guys get all closed off and don't want to talk about big important stuff.

Sheesh. Girls.

Not to be confused with that other Titus. (htt*p://imdb.co*m/title/tt0205700/ [Your site hates link tags and URLs :P])

"To-morrow, and to-morrow, and to-morrow,
Creeps in this petty pace from day to day..."
It's Macbeth. Where're my stars? :)
