Simon Says - "Radios are for Heads"
The following is actually a sort of response to Leah's rant about radiohead on the radio...
Just so that everyone knows - I put on Radiohead while I was home alone about a week before I left for England. When J5 ended, Radiohead was simply in the next spot on the carousel.
Now, those who are in the know are aware that The Bends is a fan-fucking-tastic album. So when it came on, I was in the midst of working, thinking, concentrating, and I didn't really notice that it was The Band She Hates, I was just loving and rocking out. But on about the third song, I realized, "Hey, this is Radiohead. She hates Radiohead. But she hasn't complained. Maybe she is learning. Maybe she only hates Radiohead because it's one of her bits, and since she doesn't know this is Radiohead, she doesn't hate it." Alas, she was choosing not to complain when in fact she would have loved to. This is a first, and it is noble of her.
And I'll go a little further, for those who are still reading and for those who like Radiohead...
Radiohead is from Oxford. My sister Mel lives in Oxford. Kilo, her fiance, took me to a gig while I was there. We saw three bands, two of which were pretty unremarkable, although enjoyable. BUT, there was one that was pretty damn good, and fun to listen to, and pretty creative. They are called Harry Angel. They don't sound like Radiohead per se, but they have a similar sort of thing going on. Sort of a "Radiohead/Public Image/Bis/Iggy Pop Blah Blah Blah era" sort of thing... I recommend that those of you who don't hate Radiohead go check out Harry Angel:

When you go there, please look at the photo section, and notice that the bass player is only slightly larger than her bass. Fun to watch her play that thing.
There is a sample of one of their songs available - worth a listen, but it's not as good as the version on their E.P. I'm sure you'll all run out and buy it when it hits the stores.
Anyway, that's all for tonight. I will be pulling my first all-nighter in years, finishing a major project for a client.
