A Girl...

Turn, Turn, Turn

Wow. Two years ago today I got engaged.

And now, on this day, October 19, 2005, I'm as happy as I've ever been. It's at once just like I'd planned it and nothing like I'd planned it.

I wish I had more time to write, but this week work is taking over my 11 to 7s, and Simon holds dominion over the rest. The only other place I have internet is at my apartment, and I'm only ever there to watch Gilmore Girls (Simon doesn't have his antenna set up) and to feed my poor neglected little kitten, so there's never a time to sit down and think and compose. Just the other day I scored a Mac G4 and a sweet flat-panel for $100, so once we get that set up and wired at Simon's, I should have more opportunity to write some and post a few of the bajillion pictures we've been taking lately. From last weekend alone I have pictures of Teddy's birthday party, planting flowers for the front steps, making sushi, hanging out at the pub, grilling a big steak dinner, and wearing matching pink sunglasses at Target. We also played lots of darts (in the kitchen!) and watched lots of movies and played lots of cribbage and drank lots of tea. And went to a semi-fancy restaurant in decidedly non-fancy clothes. And talked to this girl on the street about circus and gypsy accordion music. And talked to a guy who'd hunted down a CD soundtrack version of the animated Hobbit. And a guy from Sheffield, England--where Simon studied his year abroad--who also happened to look a whole lot like Ewan MacGregor. We also bought a double-nozzled showerhead (Hello, Dolly!), aaaaaaaalmost got a great deal on an electronic drum kit, and solidified plans to visit my parents in two weeks.

So that's me. This is us. This is October 19, 2005.
