Simon Says - "The Golden Ring"

When Dear Sweet Bautiful Leah first asked if I'd like to start posting occasionally, I thought it might be fun. "Sure," I said, "I'll post something now and again."

Then I think she started to second think the situation... After all, it is HER blog. She said that maybe I should have my OWN blog, and whenever I post something, she would link to it. Now I gotta tell you, I am not even about to start my own blog, and the offer was already made, so she couldn't really take it back. ha HA!

(As our dear friend Jeannie pointed out during her short shift as guest blogger a few months ago, the worst part about starting a blog would have to be the laborious process of building up readers. Give me a break -- start my own blog when Lovely Leah has a pre-established readership? Forget it! I'll piggyback on this girl's popularity. It's like getting a role on an already popular soap opera -- the audience is there, you've got a great head start, and you'll be on magazine covers before your first episode even airs, with headlines like: "Emma's New Love: Blaine - More Man than She Can Handle!" Anyway...)

I asked what she thought in terms of content - will I be a source of running commentary? Should I post my own independent thoughts? Should I use this instead of using the comment page? What does this girl expect from me in the context of her public forum? Does she expect perfect grammar? Does my speling have to be perfect? Ohhhh, the pressure!

Well, I am excited to try. Don't worry, I'm not going to take over or anything. You won't be forced to sift through tons of my crap to get to the good stuff.

So all of you lucky people out there will now get to hear a word or two from Mr. Simon himself. I'm excited that I can help make the site name make sense again. (I'd like to be able to say, "I put the boy in the agirlandaboy" but that's not quite true. I'll go ahead and think it to myself anyway.)

I love this!

And you mean there was a different boy? Bah - I may have read about it way back then, but in my eyes, you're the only one that counts.

Too cute.

And suddenly I feel crude for wanting to make jokes about putting the boy back into a girl..

Welcome to the world of blogging, Simon!

Maybe "man" instead of boy?

Hi Simon! I'm waving at you!

Simon,

Thank you for your gracious credit - you truly are a prince among men. I mean boys. I am looking forward to reading your entries.

i can always appreciate a man who blogs and makes soap opera analagies.
