Good Things Come

Last weekend I rollerskated and went to a concert and made sushi and marched around to "Teddy Bears' Picnic" while crashing mini cymbals and laughed so hard I couldn't breathe and co-acquired a free organ and possibly broke said organ and showered in a clawfoot tub and shared a Slurpee and shopped at Target and ate caviar and scrubbed grime and tickled the ivories Beethoven style and chatted with Brandin in New York and drank one and a quarter whiskey sours and and watched something like four hours of celebrity poker and this guy and talked about poo and bought vinyl and stayed up late and wore a $47,000 dollar diamond solitaire at Tiffany's and petted many greyhounds and found my Sleep Number (25) and tried on elf-toed tennis shoes and sprinkled M&Ms on my oatmeal and sang along with Kermit the Frog and watched a bride stumble drunkenly from her limo and learned how to properly hold a harmonica.

And now...

Introducing Simon (not his real name!)

mine.jpg

He has chocolatey brown eyes, he's an Aquarius, and his favorite food is seared ahi, although on any given day you'll catch him with a fistful of carnitas burrito con salsa picante. He likes listening to records, riding his bike, playing the guitar, and watching movies, and when he smiles his lips curl up at different angles and his eyes crinkle at the corners with heartswelling wonderfulness. He knows more jokes than you and your Uncle Milt combined and he shops for gifts at the very last minute but always finds the perfect thing. He believes in seatbelts, reading the news online, and that cats are better than dogs. He'll pick Jack over Maker's (more for me!) and he's the one who taught me how to enjoy a nice single malt. He's one of those people who can talk to anyone about anything (unless it's me about Gilmore Girls (a fresh season starts Tuesday!), in which case he just rolls his eyes), and he can whistle almost as loud as my grandma. Charisma? Up the wazoo. Smarts? Oh hell yeah. His Sleep Number is 75, and I love him. You will love him too.

Go ahead now, Internets, and say you told me so, because you were totally right.

How lame am I that I can't stop checking my own website just to get a glimpse of Mr. Hotpants (who is out of town this weekend)?

Posted by: Leah at September 10, 2005 08:03 PM

Pretty lame, missy. Don't worry, I'll be home soon enough, don't get your knickers in a twist.

You, go, lady. He is hot, and sounds worthy of your rock-starness (it was the more jokes than me and my Uncle Milt that convinced me.)

Totally wicked-happy for you.

I do have to say that Mr. Hotpants bears a striking resemblance to Chris Carrabba of Dashboard Confessional fame. Yummy.

Please enlighten us more of your lovestory...
