Le Freak, C'est Chic

Things I am currently freaking out about:

1. I leave for Italy with my parents in six weeks and don't have The Dress, i.e., the one that is so comfortable and airy and stylish that I will wear it every day, despite having packed eleventeen other well-chosen outfits.

2. Don't even get me started on the shoes.

3. I will be gone for three weeks, during which my poor, sweet, needy cat will be at the mercy of inattentive babysitters.

4. Oh my god, I am spending three solid weeks with my parents.

5. My lease is up tomorrow and that means (a) my landlord might raise the rent that last year he lowered by $450 because I was newly single and crying and (b) I will have to decide whether to sign for another year or go month to month in anticipation of some magnificent and wonderful happening that will allow me to move to a place with a shower that has both hot water and water pressure, imagine that!

6. I need to work out. I am getting fat.

7. I should go by a digital SLR camera ASAP, but when am I going to have the time to learn how to use it properly?

8. How am I going to store the 10,000 digital photos I anticipate taking while overseas?

9. Why can't I be one of those people who has no problem throwing out old clothes or old books or old report cards and school papers and programs from my cousins' junior high dance concerts circa 1989?

10. What if this cough never goes away?

digital storage, get a flash drive or another memory card. get a digital camera that is an SLR AND auto, so you can learn as you go.

i am sympathetic about and for your kitty. if i was closer, i would visit. :-)

your cough will go away, but maybe get it checked.

xo

Hey you!

Go buy that digital SLR. I bought mine right before my big Europe trip and learned on the way. Seriously. I clicked away on the airplane ride and learned all I needed to know. Realize though, that you'll need a good street lens to go with the camera. The one that comes with it won't be of much use in most situations. Not enough zoom. Oh, and they also sell these storage thingies (don't know the technical term, John always carries a laptop, so I just store my images on that) that can hold up to 10G of photos. That should be plenty of space, no?

Have a rocking good time in Italy. I'm so jealous!

If you know anything about SLRs, the digital ones are a piece of cake. I like the Canon Digital Rebel, but the entry Nikon is also intuitive (it's a Ford v. Chevy, Mac v. PC difference). I have Canon lenses, therefore I use Canon. Go for it!

You can buy an awesome dress and shoes in Italy!!!!!
