Beeeeeeach!

Beach beach beach beach beach. All I can think about is going to the beach. I'm going to the beach tomorrow, but I also want to go to the beach today. And I wanted to go to the beach yesterday. I want to go to the beach NOW. It's nigh on eighty degrees here in the San Francisco Bay Area and everything--everything--smells the way it smells when I should be on my way to the beach. Girls in skirts with freshly-shaven legs are wearing lotion scented with peaches and cucumbers. George the Jockey has barbecued steak and pork and chicken outside my window for the past three nights and the aroma lingers in the air of my apartment. Walking to and from work I pass blossoming bushes that each smell like a different variety of honeysuckle, even though none of them actually is honeysuckle. I want to go to the beach and slather on suncreen that will make me smell like a big white pina colada. I want to have a tall glass of lemonade that never gets warm no matter how slow I sip it. I want to inhale the faint chlorine odor that still clings to my swimsuit a year after I was last in a hot tub. Tomorrow. Tomorrow tomorrow tomorrow. Tomorrow I go to the beach.

After being raised 27 years in Santa Cruz, I send you warm beach-y thoughts from snowy Colorado :-) Enjoy!

Beach sounds good - too bad I'm dealing with fresh snow and winds off the lake (L. Superior that is) and so that is COLD. *sigh* I will have to live vicariously through your beachiness.

I just came back from the beach. Yesterday, at around this time, I had just come back from the beach as well. Tomorrow? You guessed it, I'm going to the beach. In fact, now that you mention it, I go to the beach EVERYDAY. I think it has something to do with the fact that the beach is right across the street. Want to come visit? If you get tired of the beach, we also have a pool.

I'm ready to live near a beach again. This dreary prairie makes me yearn for sand in unmentionable places and foamy seawater on my toes.
