well, one of my Republican friends said to me this morning, "And what are you so afraid will happen now?" I looked at her and said, "You MUST be kidding...the war will go on as pathetically managed as it is now, the environment will continue to be trashed, up to 4 new Supreme Court justices will be named by this idiot, more cuts in aid to people who really need it...need I go on?"
She just stared at me, as if these things had never entered her conciousness and she had absolutely NOTHING to say to me...
I think most people are already talked out about the farce -- I mean, results. Thankfully, I was spared the election-night pain by massive quantities of wine. But talk about a nasty hangover! :)
i got numerous emails from friends overseas that were flabbergasted by the result. it's a pity i couldn't vote, even though it wouldn't have made a difference to the result i would have liked to voice my opinion. i can'thelp but think of a quote that i read once (but forget who said it, not helped by the bottle of wine i have already consumed)... evil lives when good men sit by and do nothing.
